For US Citizens, Permanent Residents and Refugee Applicants

These application deadlines are the same whether you’re a home-schooled ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ, in-state, or out-of-state.

We accept applications on a rolling basis, which means you can apply any time throughout the year.

You are automatically considered for ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ scholarships when you apply, but you must meet the before May 31 of your senior year.

Requirements for all freshmen

• 18 ACT English/500 SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing/ 250 Accuplacer Writing or 3.0 Overall high school GPA (unweighted)
  19 ACT Math/ 510 SAT Math/ 250 Accuplacer QAS Math or 3.0 Overall high school GPA (unweighted)
• 2.0 cumulative GPA (unweighted)

For in-state freshmen

If you graduated from a high school in ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ and you’re applying as a freshman, you must meet the requirements for all freshmen plus the following requirements for admission:

• Complete ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum (19 units) with a 2.5 GPA
  • This core GPA requirement is waived if you have a 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Composite

For out-of-state and home-schooled freshmen

If you graduated from a high school outside ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ or you were home schooled, you must meet the requirements for all freshmen plus one of these three requirements:

• Meet all in-state freshman requirements
• Complete 17+ units of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum with a 2.5 GPA and a 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Composite
• 26 ACT Composite or a 1230 SAT Composite

Alternative High School Credential

If you have not graduated high school but have taken the HiSET Exam:

• HiSET score of 15 on any subtest and score of 4 on HiSET Essay and
• 18 ACT English/500 SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing
• 19 ACT Math/ 510 SAT Math

Don't meet the requirements?

If you do not meet the criteria for Guaranteed Admission, there are a few ways you can be admitted. You can:

• Defer your admissions decision to another semester to give yourself more time to meet the requirements.
• Complete the highest level of remedial Math and English with a C or better before the semester you applied for.
• Take the Accuplacer test for admissions consideration.

We also offer admission by exception committee by invitation only. Eligible applicants will be contacted directly by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after application to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ.

Official Test Scores

Log in to your ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ account on the SAT or ACT websites to send your scores to UL Lafayette’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

• UL Lafayette’s ACT test code: 1612
• UL Lafayette’s SAT test code: 6672

Official scores must be sent from the SAT or ACT to make a final decision on your admission to UL Lafayette and to be considered for academic scholarships.

Dual Enrollment & Other College Credit

Any college-level credit that you’ve earned, including Dual Enrollment, must be submitted to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ. Contact the college or university that awarded the credit (not your high school)* and request that your official transcript with final grades be sent to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette, or admissions@louisiana.edu if an email address is requested.  

If you completed Dual Enrollment through the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette, your grades are already on file with the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ and do not need to be submitted.  

*High school transcripts cannot be used for awarding college credit. Transcripts must come directly from the college or university that awarded the credit. Additionally, high school counselors are not able to submit this request on the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s behalf. The ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ must initiate the request.  

High School Transcripts

We will need to receive your high school transcript when you apply, even if you haven’t completed all of your high school classes. We will need your final transcript with your graduation date and GPA before you can enroll.

In-state freshmen

If you attended a ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ high school, we can access your high school transcript electronically.

If you earned your GED or attended an unaccredited ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ high school, you will need to have your official transcripts sent to Undergraduate Admissions. Contact your admissions counselor for help.

Out-of-state freshmen

Contact your high school counselor and ask them to email or mail your transcripts directly to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

AP, CLEP, & Credit by Other Means

If you earned college credit through Advanced Placement (AP) Exams or the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) you must submit your scores to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ so they can be evaluated. To do so, log into your College Board account and request that your scores be sent to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette. 

Credit earned by any other means must also be submitted to the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ. Please contact admissions@louisiana.edu with questions about submitting credits. 

Immunization Form

All incoming freshmen must submit an immunization form before you can register for classes. You can submit it at the same time or after your admissions application.

You must be screened for tuberculosis (TB) and be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus-diphtheria.

Selective Service Registration

Males between 18 and 26 years old are required to register with the Selective Service and provide proof of registration to Undergraduate Admissions. .
