Annie Beth Briley of Lafayette, a senior majoring in marketing, will reign as the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette’s 2015 Homecoming queen.
Maids on the Homecoming Court are Julianna Brooks of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mary Katherine Chiasson of Lafayette; Ashley Duhon of Lafayette; Dobrielle Gatlin of Gloster, La.; Milan Milson of Youngsville, La.; and Natalie Richard of Thibodaux, La. Nominees for the court are submitted by UL Lafayette ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ organizations. Senior Ragin’ Cajun football players choose the court after nominees have been interviewed.
The Homecoming Court will be featured on a float in the annual Homecoming Parade that begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Later that day, the court will be presented on the football field during halftime of the Homecoming game. The Ragin’ Cajuns will square off against the ULM Warhawks at 4 p.m.
Briley is vice president of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Government Association, and president of Kappa Delta Sorority.
She was nominated by SGA.
Briley was founding president of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s chapter of the American Marketing Association. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
She has received numerous scholarships, including a UL Lafayette Foundation Scholarship, and has been on the President’s List.
Briley was a team captain for the Walk to Defeat ALS. She also has performed community service for Lafayette Animal Aid, Prevent Child Abuse America, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Faith House of Acadiana, and the Girl Scouts of America.
Her parents are Mark and Stacey Briley of Lafayette.
Julianna Brooks is an economics major, and was nominated by the UL Lafayette Honors Program.
She has been on the Dean’s List.
Brooks, a sophomore, is a cross-country runner for the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s track team.
She is a member of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s Economics Club, the UL Lafayette Honors Board, and Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship.
Brooks is the daughter of Michael and Kathleen Brooks of Las Vegas, Nev.
A petroleum engineering major, Mary Katherine Chiasson was nominated by Kappa Delta Sorority.
She is secretary of the UL Lafayette chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and was a ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ representative for the American Association of Drilling Engineers. Chiasson competes as a member of the Department of Engineering’s quiz bowl team.
A senior, she is a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda and the Order of Omega honor societies, and the SGA. Chiasson also served as president of the Blue Key Honors Society.
She participates in the Ragin’ Cajun Catholics ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Ministry and was on the Holy Cross Catholic Church Confirmation Retreat Team.
Chiasson is the daughter of Eric and Phyllis Chiasson of Lafayette.
Ashley Duhon is biology major who was nominated by Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
She is treasurer of the Pre-Professional Society, and a senator representing the Ray P. Authment College of Sciences on the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Government Association. Duhon was treasurer of Phi Mu Sorority.
A recipient of numerous scholarships, she also has been on the President’s list.
A senior, Duhon is a member of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s Honors Program, and Phi Kappa Phi and Order of Omega honor societies.
She participated in the Rho Lambda sorority leadership program, and is president of Rho Lambda.
Duhon enjoys volunteering for animal welfare projects and organizations, and has performed community service for the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic.
She is the granddaughter of Terrie Tycer of Lafayette.
Dobrielle Gatlin was nominated by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
A senior mass communications/broadcasting major, she was a Homecoming Court maid in 2012.
Gatlin was a SOUL Camp ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ mentor. The program helps new ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs develop leadership skills and promotes Ragin’ Cajun spirit through community service, social activities, team building and mentoring.
She is a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda honor society, and also received a ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Government Association scholarship. Gatlin is a member of College Democrats.
In 2012, she helped found the Black Women Leadership Association on campus.
Gatlin was recognized for academic excellence by the Black Faculty and Staff Association four times.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Gatlin is the daughter of Danyelle and Reynard Scroggins, and Dwight Gatlin, all of Gloster, La.
Milan Milson, a senior psychology major, was nominated by the Ragin’ Jazz Dance Team. She is a co-captain of the team, and received its Veteran of the Year Award.
She was recognized for academic excellence by the Black Faculty and Staff Association, and received the St. Joseph Catholic Church Scholarship.
Milson is a member of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s Psychology Colloquium.
Her community service work includes volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana, St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Games of Acadiana, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Joseph’s Diner.
She is the daughter of Warren and Charlotte Milson of Youngsville, La.
A sociology major, Natalie Richard has served in various leadership roles in the Residence Hall Association, which nominated her for the 2015 Homecoming Court.
Richard is the traditions chair for the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Program Council. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and the Pride of Acadiana Marching Band Color Guard.
Richard is an academic mentor with UL Lafayette’s Learning Is For Everyone (LIFE) program for ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. She has been a volunteer for Special Olympics of Acadiana events.
The sophomore is a member of the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s Honors Program, and the Alpha Lambda Delta and the Sigma Alpha Lambda honor societies.
Richard participated in the Emerging Leaders Summit.
