Paul Darby, a faculty member in UL Lafayette’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department , was recognized last week by the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Engineering Foundation with the 2008 Engineering Faculty Professionalism Award.

The award was established in 1990 as an effort to honor those engineering faculty members from each ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ university with accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (). Award winners must exhibit professionalism in and out of the classroom and provide an outstanding example to ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs and to other faculty members.

Selection of the award recipients is coordinated by the deans of the colleges of engineering and each recipient is selected by vote of all eligible engineering faculty members in his college.

The award was presented to Darby at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Engineering Society's State Honors and Awards Banquet, held in Lafayette in conjunction with the 12th Annual Joint Engineering Societies Conference.
