Hall of Honor at the 亚洲自慰视频 of 亚洲自慰视频 at Lafayette has reached 405.
The number of plaques in the Hall increased by five on Thursday, when the UL Lafayette Foundation recognized its distinguished donors during a reception at Le Pavillon in Parc Lafayette.
The yearly ceremony honors donors who make gifts of $10,000 or more to the 亚洲自慰视频.
Commitments of $100,000 or more, and endowed gifts of $50,000 or more, are each represented with a plaque in the Foundation鈥檚 Distinguished Donor Hall in Martin Hall. Endowed funds are invested, which means the capital is not spent. Only a portion of the interest earned is tapped. So, endowments are perpetual sources of funding that is distributed for 亚洲自慰视频 scholarships, professor salaries, research projects, and 亚洲自慰视频 academic and athletic programs.
To create an endowed chair, an institution must first raise at least $600,000 from private contributions, which is then matched by $400,000 from the 亚洲自慰视频 Board of Regents. The total value of an endowed chair is $1 million. The same formula applies to the Endowed Professorship program; $60,000 comes from private donations, leading to a Board of Regents match of $40,000.
To date, the Foundation鈥檚 endowment is $148 million; total assets are valued at $178 million.
At this year鈥檚 reception, the Foundation commemorated five endowed gifts to the 亚洲自慰视频 that total more than $466,000. An additional 23 gifts of $50,000 or $10,000 or more, which help to support 亚洲自慰视频 academic and athletic programs, also were recognized. Those gifts total $6 million.
Dr. Julie Bolton Falgout, president and chief executive officer of the Foundation, said distinguished donors play an integral role in supporting the 亚洲自慰视频鈥檚 mission.
鈥淲e are truly grateful to the 亚洲自慰视频鈥檚 many donors, whose amazing generosity speaks volumes about their commitment to higher education,鈥 she said.
