Panopto is a lecture capture software that enables instructors to create video and audio podcasts of lectures for ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ viewing at a later time.

Online exam proctoring allows ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs in different geographical locations to be monitored while taking exams through webcams and screen monitoring technologies. The ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ uses ProctorU for proctoring exams online. 

Through ProctorU, ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs can schedule exam appointments 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs are responsible for the proctoring fees. Faculty should notify ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs of any additional costs at the beginning of the semester.

Faculty do have the option of allowing ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs to be proctored in-person at a remote location, in which case the faculty member would need to provide the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ with the Proctor Approval Form and have the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ complete and obtain all approvals.

Supported Platforms

ProctorU can be used on any desktop/laptop platform using most common web browsers; use the latest updated browser at all times (Chrome or Firefox is recommended). You can do a to make sure you have no issues before taking an exam.

Scheduling and Fees

ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs are able to schedule exam appointments with ProctorU 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs are responsible for the proctoring fees. Faculty should notify ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs of any additional costs at the beginning of the semester.

Adaptive course design using RealizeIt is a new way to present personalized, customizable courses that provide ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs with a fundamentally different experience than they would have in standard online or hybrid courses. 

The RealizeIt platform houses all the learning materials, activities, and formative assessments for specific learning units. As ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs progress through the course, the platform automatically directs them to the most appropriate content for their current level of understanding. Some ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs will be directed to proceed to the next lesson or choice of lessons, while others will be guided towards remediation of previous material. The platform is constantly learning about each ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ’s behavior and performance and providing guidance to help them to attain the learning goals of the course.

Realizeit integrates into the Moodle gradebook and allows for direct linking of coursework with single sign-on for the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs, who can purchase an access code from the UL Lafayette Bookstore. 

Eligible faculty may be able to receive stipends through departmental Distance Learning Funds for improving an online course and/or transitioning to the use of OER.

If you are interested in using RealizeIt for your course, follow the following process:

Step 1. Assess whether your course is a good fit. 

Courses that require ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs to build a knowledge base or demonstrate a skill that can be measured by objective means are very good candidates for adaptive courseware. 

Characteristics include: 

• Current or planned use of open educational resources (OER).
• Quantitative assessments.

Courses that rely heavily on subjective assignments, such as forums, research projects, papers, portfolios, etc. are not a good fit as they miss out on the redirection and remediation aspects of RealizeIt.

Step 2. Apply.

Turnitin is an online tool that allows faculty to provide detailed feedback on written assignments with the added benefit of ensuring that ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs are submitting original and properly cited work. 

Choose Turnitin for: 

• Essay and paper submissions 
• Projects that are primarily text-based 
• Robust annotation options 
• Robust rubric creation and application options
• Similarity/Originality report for plagiarism detection 
• Optional automatic grammar checking 

Features of Turnitin include:

Turnitin’s AI writing detection uses generative AI to detect patterns of writing commonly produced by generative AI and reports the results in the form of a score predicting the probability of AI-generated material.

Zoom Webinar

Zoom Webinars are used for one-to-many communication. Typically, webinars have one or more panelists and view-only attendees. Webinar features include:

• Content Sharing, Audio and Video features exclusively for Panelists.
• Capacity for 3,000 view-only attendees by default.

Zoom Webinar features are available to all UL Lafayette faculty and staff upon request. The Office of Distance Learning has one webinar license available and will schedule webinars on a first-come, first-serve basis. To schedule a webinar, complete the . Accessing Your Zoom Pro License

All UL Lafayette faculty and staff have access to a Zoom Pro license. How you log in to Zoom depends on your role. 

Connecting through Moodle (for Faculty)

Connecting through Moodle using the Zoom-Moodle Integration is the preferred method for faculty to schedule and host meetings. There are several advantages to this method, including easy authentication of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ participants, tracking meeting attendance, and easy sharing of recorded meetings. 

Connecting through ULLafayette.Zoom.us (for Staff)

Access your Zoom Pro license using your ULID and ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ password at to schedule and host your Zoom meetings.

If you are signing into your Zoom license directly from the Zoom app on your device, you'll need to:

1. Click the "Sign In with SSO" button on the login screen.
2. Enter "ullafayette" in the Company Domain field and click "Continue."
3. Enter your normal ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ credentials.
